Picking up your new car should be one of the best parts of buying it. At Peter Ambrose, we take care over every handover, so you drive away confident, informed and ready to enjoy your car. Whether you collect from our Castleford showroom or arrange delivery to your door, our family-run team looks after you from start to finish.

Collect from Our Castleford Showroom

Most customers collect their car from us in person, and we think it’s the best way to start your motoring. We’ll agree a day and time that suits you, and your car will be prepared and waiting for you when you arrive. There’s no rush, and you’re welcome to ask as many questions as you like.

Can’t get to us? Ask about delivery. We serve customers across Castleford, Leeds, Wakefield, Pontefract and wider West Yorkshire, and can discuss delivery options for customers further afield. Get in touch with your location and we’ll let you know what we can arrange, including any charges and timings.

What Happens at Handover

When you collect or receive your car, our team will:

  • Check the car with you: we’ll go over the vehicle together so you’re happy with its condition
  • Explain the controls and technology: including infotainment, driver assistance systems and connected features
  • Help with electric and hybrid models: we’ll show you how to charge, how to read range information and how to get the most from your car
  • Go through the paperwork: including registration documents, warranty details and any finance agreement
  • Hand over keys and documents: along with the owner’s handbook and service information
  • Answer your questions: before you set off and after you’ve driven away

Before Your Handover

Before you collect or receive your car, it helps to:

  • Arrange insurance for your new car, so it’s in place from the moment you take delivery
  • Bring your full, valid driving licence
  • Bring any documents your finance agreement requires
  • Let us know about your part-exchange car so we can deal with it at the same appointment
  • Allow plenty of time so you can enjoy the handover without feeling rushed

Used Car Handovers

Every used car we sell has been through a multi-point inspection by our trained technicians and comes with at least 12 months’ warranty and MOT test insurance. At handover, we’ll explain your cover and what to do if you need help, so you know where you stand from day one.

Looking After Your Car After Handover

Our relationship doesn’t end when you drive away. As an authorised Peugeot repairer, we provide servicing, genuine parts and ongoing support to keep your car in top condition. You can book a service, book an MOT or explore our service plans at any time. Customers who return to us for servicing also benefit from free MOTs for life.

Can I collect my car on a Saturday?
Yes. Our sales team is open from 09:00 to 17:00 on Saturdays, so just let us know your preferred time.

How long does a handover take?
It depends on the car and how much you’d like us to explain, so we recommend allowing plenty of time. We’ll never rush you.

Do you deliver cars to customers?
Ask our team. We’ll tell you what we can arrange for your location, along with any charges and timings.

Will you show me how my new car works?
Yes. We’ll talk you through the controls, technology and safety features, and answer any questions you have.

I’m buying an electric Peugeot. Will you explain how to charge it?
Yes. We’ll explain charging, range and how to get the most from your car.

Can I bring someone with me to collect my car?
Of course. You’re welcome to bring a family member or friend.

What documents will I receive with my car?
You’ll receive your registration documents, owner’s handbook and service information, plus warranty paperwork and any finance documents. We’ll explain each of them.

We can introduce you to a selected panel of lenders, which includes PSA Finance UK. An introduction to a lender does not amount to independent financial advice and we act as their agent for this introduction. But any such amounts they and other lenders pay us will not affect the amounts you pay under your finance agreement, all of which are set by the lender concerned. If you ask us what the amount of commission is, we will tell you in good time before the Finance agreement is executed. All finance applications are subject to status, terms and conditions apply, UK residents only, 18’s or over. Guarantees may be required.
